About me

My name is Shaf and I'm a qualified counsellor and Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society. I bring many years of experience to my practice, both as a counsellor and prior to that as a medically qualified health professional.

Are you feeling stressed, anxious or depressed? Struggling with relationships? Wondering if you might be heading for a burnout? Whatever you are struggling with, being able to talk to someone trained to listen can be very healing.

I have a special interest in issues related to the corporate workplace. Prior to retraining as a counsellor 5 years ago, I worked for 20+ years in the corporate healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. I have a deep understanding of corporate culture. Are you struggling in such an environment? Concerned about relationships with colleagues? Feeling under intense pressure to perform? Stressed about the perpetual risk of losing your job or status? Feeling that your career has stalled?

I also work 2 days a week as a counsellor at the University of Kent and have a deep interest in helping students who are struggling with their mental health. If you are or know a student who is struggling please get in touch and I may be able to help.

I am also a part of the Find You Be You group - meet the Find You Be You team here

If you are considering counselling then you have made the first and most important step. If anything above resonates then please get in touch.
