My name is Shaf and I'm a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I bring many years of experience to my practice, both as a counsellor and prior to that as a medically qualified health professional. I currently see clients in Faversham (Kent).
Are you feeling stressed, anxious or depressed? Struggling with relationships? Wondering if you might be heading for a burnout? Whatever you are struggling with, being able to talk to someone trained to listen can be very healing.
I have a special interest in issues related to the corporate workplace. Prior to retraining as a counsellor 5 years ago, I worked for 20+ years in the corporate healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. I have a deep understanding of corporate culture. Are you struggling in such an environment? Concerned about relationships with colleagues? Feeling under intense pressure to perform? Stressed about the perpetual risk of losing your job or status? Feeling that your career has stalled?
Or, are you thinking about leaving the corporate world or wondering about a career change but have nobody to talk to about it? I won't tell you what to do, but I am impartial and I will not judge you and together we may be able to work out what is the right path for you.
In addition to my private practice I work as a counsellor 2 days a week at the University of Kent and have years of experience helping students with the problems they face in a university environment. If you are a student struggling with your mental health then maybe I can help.
I am also a part of the Find You Be You group - meet the Find You Be You team here https://findyoubeyou.com/
If you are considering counselling then you have made the first and most important step. If anything above resonates then please get in touch.
My fees are as follows:
£0 for an initial 15-20 minute telephone assessment - please get in touch to arrange a time
£45 per 1 hour session from a dedicated therapy area in my home in Faversham, Kent
£45 per 1 hour session via secure video link (Skype or Zoom)
There is no obligation to have more than one session and there are no stipulations as to the frequency of our sessions should you wish to continue.
Video sessions are using Zoom or Skype. Zoom is my preference as it is more secure and uses less bandwidth.
